Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., shared a calm video of a lakeside walk set to a Somali rap track with lyrics about scattering enemies, days after federal agents raided her Washington home.

Omar posted the video to X on Friday. The caption read, "Less scrolling, more strolling. Enjoying our beautiful Minnesota lakes." The clip shows Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, walking on a dock with fall foliage in the background. They smile, chat, and hold coffee while a montage of images concludes the footage. The exact date the video was filmed remains unclear.

The audio track, however, presents a different tone. The song, titled "Nimaan Ciilayba Icaaya," is by Ilkacase Qays, whose real name is Muse Abdikadir. His website describes him as a U.S. based Somali singer, rapper, and activist. The track features Somali singer Hodan Abdirahman. A cultural analysis describes the song as an example of Somali lyrical poetry built around pride, bravery, and personal dignity.

The lyrics include the lines, "No enemy dares threaten me, wherever I step, they scatter." Another verse states, "If the just one had felt anger on my behalf, would he not have crushed the enemy underfoot?" The analysis notes the artist uses exaggerated imagery to ridicule opponents, portraying them as people who lose sleep and suffer humiliation.

Omar reemerged in public in Minnesota on Friday after nearly two weeks out of the spotlight. She cast an early ballot in Minneapolis alongside state Attorney General Keith Ellison. The pair later visited the Karmel Mall of Somalia in Minneapolis, where they ate lunch with members of the Somali community and posed for photographs.

The video post comes during an active criminal investigation into potential fraud related to immigration paperwork. Homeland Security Investigations agents conducted a raid on Omar's home in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 12, 2026. During the search, agents confiscated her passport and cellphone. Her sister, Sahra Noor, was interviewed by federal investigators following the raid. Agents have also obtained Omar's DNA.

Omar is being investigated for potential fraud related to immigration documents filled out by her or her father during her naturalization process. Border czar Tom Homan said last week that if fraud is proven, Omar could be denaturalized. Omar restricted direct responses to her social media post. The only publicly visible comment came from former Rep. Cori Bush, who wrote, "We love this."
